Why specify PVD coloured stainless steel?
Environmentally friendly
The PVD process is more environmentally friendly than processes such as electroplating and painting, with zero discharge of gas, water waste or other residue. The stainless steel used is 60% recycled material and 100% recyclable.
Durable, UV light-stable and further properties
PVD coloured stainless steel is scratch resistant making it highly durable for high traffic and heavy- wear areas and creates a tough finish which is approximately ten times harder than stainless steel itself.
PVD coloured stainless steel is UV-light stable and does not fade. Note that this is with the exception of the colour Gun Metal.
Guarantee
We offer a twelve year guarantee for PVD coloured stainless steel.
Formats – sheet and profile
PVD coloured stainless steel is available in sheet and profile including V-Grooved and folded profiles.
Cost-effective
Allows less expensive standard ranges to be specified with colour- matched workshop-fabricated items acting as feature pieces or as essential supplements to a cheaper range
Existing fittings, components and lighting can be re-coloured enabling re-utilisation of fixtures for new re-fits.
Finishes
PVD coloured and uncoloured embossed and textured stainless steel is available.
A spectrum of colour options
PVD coloured stainless steel can be specified in a wide spectrum of colours and replicates more expensive materials such as bronze, brass and gold providing a cost-effective, easy-maintenance alternative
PVD can be completely colourless for a natural stainless steel appearance but with the added strength and resistance that the PVD process provides.
Bespoke fabrication and colouring customer’s own products
We can fabricate bespoke architectural fixtures, profiles and furniture or take customer’s own stainless steel products to colour through the PVD process. Combining these two services enables suppliers and fit-out contractors to suite a range of fixtures through a project.
